European Pillar of Social Rights a reality for Europe’s families: mind the gap
The European Commission put forward a first,preliminary outline of what should become the European Pillar of Social Rights,in March 2016. Wide public consultation are taking place throughout 2016 to allow Member States’ Authorities, social partners and European citizens to give feedback on the outline of the Social Rights Pillar itself and help the Commission to understand new trends in work patterns and societies.
On the occasion of the seminar, COFACE-Families Europe published its discussion paper “Laying the foundations for a European Pillar of Social Rights”. The first section of the discussion paper focuses on the content of the future Pillar, drawing out the policy principles which in our opinion are most relevant to address the immediate needs of families and challenges related to demographic changes in the last decade. …… more
