About Us
The Young Women’s Health Group (YWHG) is an initiative of the European Institute of Women’s Health (EIWH) that brings together a diverse network of young women across Europe to advocate for better health, equity, and representation.
We believe that young women’s voices are essential to shaping policies and research that truly reflect their needs. Through awareness, advocacy, and collaboration, we aim to ensure that young women are not only heard but also empowered to drive change in the health policies that affect their lives. Recognising the intersecting identities and experiences that shape young women’s health, from gender and age to race, disability, sexuality, and socioeconomic background, we work to promote an inclusive approach to health that leaves no one behind.
Our work focuses on key areas such as sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health, access to diagnosis and care, mental health, neurodiversity, and gender equity in clinical research.
Vision
A world where every young woman has equal access to quality healthcare, representation in research, and the opportunity to live a healthy, fulfilling life, free from stigma, bias, and inequality.
Mission
Our mission is to make young women’s health a political and public health priority across Europe by:
● Raising awareness of the unique health challenges young women face.
● Promoting equity and representation in healthcare systems and research.
● Empowering young women to shape and influence health policies.
● Building a community of advocates committed to advancing gender-sensitive and inclusive health systems.
