Dr. Paul De Raeve
Secretary General of the European Federation of Nurses Associations
Graduated as registered nurse in 1984, he obtained a Master degree in Nursing Science in 1989, a Master degree in Statistics in 1996, and a PhD in 2014, and worked in several settings until 2002, when he was appointed as EFN Secretary General.
His activities relate to the promotion and protection of nurses and the nursing profession with particular reference to the EU in the field of education, workforce, and quality and safety, including eHealth. From 2013 to 2015,
Paul coordinated ENS4Care, a European Thematic Network focussing on evidence based guidelines for e-services in healthcare. As a follow-up, he convinced the EFN members to establish and invest in the newly developed European Nursing Research Foundation (ENRF).
