Dr. Marre Karu
Gender equality researcher at the European Institute for Gender Equality
Marre Karu is a gender equality researcher at the European Institute for Gender Equality since 2015. She is one of the authors of the Gender Equality Index 2017. Marre studied social policy analysis in the University of Leuven in Belgium, followed by a PhD in sociology from the University of Tartu in Estonia. Her work as a researcher over the past ten years has been focused on gender equality, particularly on gender perspectives of social policies, including work-life balance issues and leave policies.
